"The Special Light"
2026 Member Exhibition of the Trier Photographic Society
Without light, there can be no image—but what is SPECIAL LIGHT?
Light, which is essential for every photograph, comes in an infinite number of facets. But when is this element, which is so important to us, special, and how can it be used to create an impressive scene in a photograph?
Our photographers have explored this question and captured “special light” in many facets: as a spotlight on objects, sunbeams in the sky or in nature, a solitary light in the darkness, morning or evening atmosphere, reflections, sun, moon, stars, lanterns, candles, lights in traffic, natural phenomena such as fog, rain, sunsets or sunrises, cast shadows, backlighting, ...
Our photographers have put these and other types of “special light” in the “right light” and captured a moment, a mood in an extraordinary light composition for eternity and for this exhibition.
