This year the “European Mobility Week” will be held from September 16 to 22. In the course of this event, the Trier parties in the City Council have moved for a cycling experience day, making the downtown a car-free zone on Sunday, September 20.

The exact concept for the cycling experience day has not yet been worked out, however, but is to include events in cooperation with the German Cycling Club (ADFC), the Ecological Traffic Club (VCD), Local Agenda 21, and Trier Tourism and Marketing. An additional day in the European Mobility Week has been applied for, a day for free transport on all city buses. This promotion is to animate Trier townspeople and guests to switch to public transportation for the sake of the environment. A regular work day is planned for this. For 2021, an additional expansion and transition of the public transportation operations is planned for evening and weekend traffic.
