What happens when a clown has a midlife crisis? Then the whole circus suddenly goes crazy…
The middle of life. Statistically, we reach it in our early forties. A phase of life in which most people have many balls in the air: family, relationships, career, self-realization. But what if one of those balls falls? Or several? What if you get the feeling that more doors are closing in life than are opening?
With its show MIDLIFE CIRCUS, the TUFA Civic Theatre opens entirely new doors and, together with professional artists, explores the theme of circus theatre for the first time. The result is a surprising journey through many phases of life, none of which are entirely without crises. Biographical elements blend with juggling theatre, acrobatics, magic, and clowning. Poetic, funny, touching, and in any case: 100% authentic! To mark the 40th anniversary of TUFA Trier, we would like to explore the theme from the perspectives of different age groups, from young to old, and, in collaboration with the citizens, delve into questions about the cult of youth, the wisdom of age, and the vast in-between.
