Für Kinder
They were celebrated, yet also despised. They were stars – but also slaves. One moment they were being applauded by the roaring crowd, the next they were at the mercy of the audience. But how did Roman gladiators really live? How difficult was it to fight as well as they did? What was actually more important: courage or skill, strength or tactics? And did gladiators really die constantly in the fights? Nowhere else in Germany can you experience this as vividly as in the Trier Amphitheater.

With actor and gladiator Robin Schnarrbach, you'll explore the arena both above and below ground, see and touch the equipment of a real gladiator, and even try a few exercises to transport yourselves back to 1800 years ago. You and your accompanying adults will authentically become gladiators for a time – but don't worry: no one will be enslaved.

Duration: approx. 75 minutes
Meeting point: Amphitheater, entrance
Price includes admission to the amphitheater
Each child should have a designated adult in the group (one adult for several children is also possible).
Suitable for children between 6 and 12 years old.
