Jan Weiler: Das Beste!

Mein Leben zwischen Pubertieren

Mar19

Stage / Theater

In the great Pubertier overview, Jan Weiler covers a wide range of topics, from the encounter with the scary prehistoric crab Holger to the first warning signs of his children's puberty and its brilliant climaxes between parties, spots and pop concerts to the puberties moving out of the nest at home and the anxious question: And now what?

The best texts of the Pubertier era also include a reunion with Ulrich Dattelmann, visits to the Pubertier laboratory - and of course completely new pieces.

Jan Weiler was born in Düsseldorf in 1967. He initially worked as a copywriter in advertising and then attended the German School of Journalism in Munich. He then worked from 1994 to 2005 as an editor, author and finally editor-in-chief at the Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin.

In 2003, his first novel "Maria, ihn schmeckt's nicht" (Maria, he doesn't like it) was created from a short story in the SZ magazine. The book is considered the most successful German novel debut of the last twenty years, and the film adaptation was a success in cinemas in 2009. The sequel, "Antonio in Wonderland," followed in 2005.

Strangely, his books are not available in Italian, but are available in Korean.

"A great writer" (Hamburger Abendblatt)
"Jan Weiler cleverly plays with language and national stereotypes" (DER SPIEGEL)
"Reading Jan Weiler is simply fun." (Brigitte)
